Arrival at last

Today was the day. At about 10:30 a.m. we rolled into Atlanta. We have been welcomed well by friends new and old. Paul lent us his pickup and many painting supplies, and Steve brought us some tarps (and he brought his dog Barkley along with him which made Jaida’s day). I received kind emails from fellow co-workers, and over the course of the day we met 3 new neighbors. When we arrived at the house we called some old friends from Turlock who just happened to be in the area visiting family. Jordan and Charlotte joined us at our new house in the early afternoon and spent the rest of the day helping us paint. Tonight we had a celabratory pancake Wednesday at the local IHOP (conveniently located less than .7 of a mile from our new house).

Tomorrow we will continue working towards geting the basic things in order (you know paint, a deep cleaning for the new digs, a handyman to solve a leaky shower, and of course internet :).

We are a little delirious from the travel (don’t let anyone tell you it isn’t a long drive, it is at almost 2500 miles). I would highly endorse flying from California if you come to visit….. Tomorrow is a brand new day. We will see what it holds. Thanks for coming along for the ride all the way from the Central Valley to the ATL.
